Advertising Account Executives handle all client liaison between an advertising agency and its clientele.

Work activities

An account executive will talk to a client about their advertising goals, and will then work with the agency's creative staff to ensure that any advertising campaigns are built to achieve these goals.

Working conditions

Working hours are normally 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, though you may often need to work past 5pm on some projects or during deadline periods. Whilst you will normally be office based, you may need to travel to visit clients.

Entry requirements

Whilst there are no set requirements, a degree in advertising, management, business or marketing may be required for some jobs. It is beneficial to have both good communication skills and a passion for advertising.

Job income

  • Salaries start between £18,000 and £24,000 annually
  • Moderately experienced account directors can extend this to between £30,000 and £45,000 annuallyWith senior level experience, salaries can be upwards of £48,000
